US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT JANUARY 13, 2025
January 14, 2025   Dave Lewis

BACK TO REALITY.  THE POSTAL SERVICE UNDERPERFORMS IN EVERY CATEGORY.

We had a fun little statistical bump in last week’s report due to the two holidays together.  So much for that.

Performance was below the MTD averages in all categories for on-time performance.   Average delivery days were abysmal.  Even intra-SCF days, which we seldom talk about, were bad.  There was not one positive thing to see in the Traffic Report.  Usually there is some ray of sunshine – not last week.

“But it snowed!  The was a fire!”  Yeah, whatever.  The worst performance was in Missouri and Indiana, where the weather is, apparently, always bad.  West Pac and Atlantic were the best areas.  Oh, they were still bad, but less bad than the others.

The significant amount of the mail that was late tended to be very late.  I’m hard pressed to find a week in the past when average delivery days were so bad across the board.

Sorry.
