FIRST-CLASS SERVICE MAKES SOME RECOVERY. ATLANTA AREA PROBLEMS CONTINUE.
First-Class letter service returned to YTD average, which is not great, but better than last week. Service averages are brought down by a continuing bottleneck in the Atlanta, GA area. The average First-Class letter delivered to an Atlanta address took 13.29 days to arrive there.
Nationally, an improved 78.6% of First-Class letters were delivered on time. 6.88% of FC letters were delivered more than 5 days late. The average time for a First-Class letter to be delivered was 4.02 days, better than last week, but still short of YTD averages. 15.04% of First-Class flats were delivered five or more days late.
Marketing Mail remained close to YTD averages.
The Postal Service indicated that they had resolved Atlanta problems, but our data show them continuing to worsen.
