US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT OCTOBER 2, 2023
October 2, 2023   Dave Lewis

A CONTINUED DOWN-TREND

Performance continued to drop in all measured categories except for First-Class letters, in terms of both on-time performance and days-in-delivery.  First-Class letters were still bad with only 87.6% delivered on time, but somewhat less bad than last week.   Remember, the stated goal of USPS is to be 95% on-time.

In our mail traffic report from last year, we were expressing our sympathy for the people of Southwest Florida, as they struggled to recover from Hurricane Ian.  Still, their performance was better during Ian in three out of four categories than it was this year.
