Lisa Bowes has joined SnailWorks as the Director of Postal Affairs and Product Insights. This brings an added level of postal expertise to SnailWorks that will directly benefit our clients, and our team. Got a question on anything postal? You’ve got your own brain trust right here on speed dial.
Lisa brings with her a passion for mailing and serving customers that makes her a perfect fit with our culture. A ton of smarts doesn’t hurt either.
Lisa will serve as a primary postal affairs representative, staying active in MTAC, keeping us up-to-the-minute on postal changes, and helping to influence how the postal programs we work with are shaped. In the past, she has served as industry co-chair for multiple user groups and work groups, including mail visibility, address quality, and ACS best practices.
Beyond postal affairs and knowledge, Lisa will assist in reviewing opportunities to enhance our products, leveraging her years of experience in the mailing software industry. We’re especially excited to have her help strengthen our Seamless Acceptance tools and Mail.Dat handling. Lisa has an extensive background in mailing software. In 2019, Lisa was recognized with the prestigious Circle of Excellence Award from Idealliance, for “Steady and steadfast leadership for Mail Software Development Group (MSDG) since 2014”. The honorees are nominated by Idealliance Leaders, Members, and Staff, and designated by the Board of Directors.
Those are some heavy credentials, but in the same year she received the “Jo Rush Ambassador of the Year Award” from the Conway, SC Visitor’s Center, where she volunteers. Brains and personality!
Lisa is a second-generation print/mailer, so it is safe to say she has been in the industry her entire life. Her father was a career RR Donnelley Lakeside Press printer. Her career began with a bet - between Lisa and Dad, involving a summer job as a material handler in the RRD bindery in Old Saybrook, CT. Not only did Lisa win the bet, to make it through the (non-air-conditioned) summer of physical labor, she went on to complete a 5-year apprentice program as a Bindery Stitcher Operator, achieving Journeyman status.
Best of all, Lisa is great to work with. She has done some consulting work for us in the past, and the whole team enjoyed her enthusiasm, knowledge, and friendliness. We’re pretty sure our clients will, too. You can drop Lisa a welcome note at lbowes@SnailWorks.com.
