FIRST-CLASS SERVICE PERFORMANCE CONTINUES TO WORSEN

First-Class letters, our most closely watched metric worsened for a second week in a row, to a level last seen in May of this year. Only 81.2% of First-Class letters were delivered on time, and about 3.2% were more than 5 days late. The sample for First-Class flats was too small to be relevant. Bad weather in the south undoubtedly had an impact on the mail, but the Southern Area actually outperformed the Central Area.

Marketing Mail continued to show strong performance, with 95.9% of both Marketing Mail letters and flats delivered on time.

No individual Postal facilities stood out for bad performance, something we’ll be keeping a close eye on as volumes continue to grow, and network updates are made.
