SERVICE IMPROVES ACROSS ALL CATEGORIES THIRD WEEK IN A ROW
Could it be a trend? We certainly hope so!
Service performance showed some of its best numbers of the year, with more than 84% of First-Class letters delivered on time, the strongest performance since January. Marketing Mail letters and flats showed comparable improvements. First-Class flats showed some improvement as well, but not to the same degree as other categories.
While still considerably below last year’s performance in the same week, this is the most promising trend we have seen this year. Delays in the Atlanta area were less severe than in prior weeks, contributing to the overall improvements. Serious Atlanta area issues had been dragging down overall performance numbers for the last few weeks, and service there remains sub-par, but has shown some improvement.
