A TERRIBLE WEEK FOR USPS SERVICE PERFORMANCE.
Every category we measure was worse in terms of on-time performance, and days in delivery. First-Class letters declined to an on-time percentage of 74.9%. The average days to deliver a First-Class letter was 4.34.
6.83% OF FIRST-CLASS LETTERS WERE MORE THAN FIVE (5) DAYS LATE.
First-Class flats were breathtakingly bad. Only 47.8% were delivered on time. The average days to deliver a First-Class flat were 5.82 days.
21.26% OF FIRST-CLASS FLATS WERE MORE THAN FIVE (5) DAYS LATE.
Remarkably, Marketing Mail was not that bad, only because the transportation is largely handled by non-postal trucking.
Even if your mail is all Marketing Mail, do not ignore the performance crisis going on in First-Class Mail – it is indicative of widespread systemic problems. If you have customers, track your mail! All we can post here are averages.
