PERFORMANCE DROPS IN ALL MEASURED CATEGORIES. THE LATE GETS LATER.
Not a good week for USPS. We saw lower on-time percentages and more days to deliver mail, particularly flats. That which was late was later. They also underperformed in all categories against YTD figures, which generally indicates a downward trend.
Some areas jumped off the page at us. St Louis was taking 8.53 days to deliver Marketing Mail flats, on average, with only 20% on time. Letters fared much better there at 2.35 days. Seattle and Richmond were slow with Marketing Mail letters at 6.68 and 5.48 respectively. We see a growing spread between flats delivery times and that for letters.
