WEEKLY US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT – May 2, 2022
May 2, 2022   Dave Lewis

ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL

Pardon my NASA speak there.  It just means that all systems appear to be operating as expected – as  expected.

All that said, for the week beginning April 18, 2022, First-Class letters were delivered on time 94.32% of the time.  First-Class flats were delivered on time 93.46 % of the time.  These are within expected parameters.

Marketing Mail Letters stayed strong with 97.64% of letters delivered on time.  Marketing Mail Flats were delivered on time 96.94% of the time.

Average Intra-SCF delivery time was 2.10 days for Marketing Mail letters, 2.21 days for Marketing Mail flats.

OK, there is one interesting point among all of this:  Every number on this report is a tiny bit worse than last week.  Just a bit – they’re within expectations, but it is unusual for all six to move in the same direction.  Trend?  Probably not, but let’s see what happens next week.

MAP OF THE WEEK

Average delivery times for First-Class Letters out of Charlotte NC in the last 2 weeks.  No worse than 3-days service (on average) in any state.  Sweet!
