USPS SERVICE PERFORMANCE IMPROVES A BIT WHILE CLEAN UP GOES ON IN THE SOUTH
USPS service performance remained largely unchanged from the prior week. Seriously damaged areas such as Asheville represent a small percentage of delivery points and have had little impact on overall service performance measurement. Mail volume is heavy with political mail as the dominant contributor. Do keep in mind that we measure when the mail is delivered – or more accurately when a piece is given to the carrier for delivery, so we may yet see some delayed impact from Helene and Milton as affected areas come back up.
Marketing Mail performance was generally strong, although Marketing Mail letters crept down a bit for on-time performance. Not to a meaningful degree, but worth watching.
Volume is heavy and we expect it to get heavier up until the election.
