US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT JUNE 19, 2023

ANOTHER ACROSS-THE-BOARD GOOD WEEK – WITH NOTES

Service was excellent across all categories, with the possible exception of First-Class letters, with a still respectable 90.4% on time.  Other categories all beat their YTD on-time averages – including that sometimes troubled, suddenly fabulous First-Class flats category.  We are always wary of anomalies.

Because we are limited to tracking the mail our clients send, our First-Class flats count is always the smallest, but still a big enough sample to be statistically significant.  We did notice this week that about 70% of our First-Class flats originated in California – with more than 98% on time delivering across the country.  Our second largest induction state was Connecticut.  First-Class flats entered in Connecticut were delivered on time about 75% of the time.  So, service performance is not necessarily great all over the country.

Still, every other category had huge volumes from about everywhere to everywhere.  Thus, overall performance remains excellent.
