US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT MAY 1, 2023

DELIVERY IN ALL MEASURED CATEGORIES BEAT MTD – SO THAT’S NOT BAD

It was the last week of April, a good week to enjoy the bursting colors of spring and not worry too much about mail service performance – it was uneventful   Even that most challenged of mail categories – First-Class flats – managed to leap into our mailboxes on time 84.5% of the time.  They weren’t enough to distract from the beauty of the Azaleas we treasure here in the Mid-Atlantic.  None of the categories made enough noise to justify any excitement, good or bad, last week.

The only downside one may interject is that 2022, First-Class letters and flats were on time 94.4% and 93.7% of the time, respectively.  Marketing Mail letters and flats were on time 97% and 95.2% of the time, respectively.  I don’t honestly remember how the Azaleas looked last year, but mail performance was certainly better.
