Is an Email an Impression?

You are no doubt familiar with IP targeting, it's been a hot new service for us here at SnailWorks. We place web display ads based on matching IP addresses to street addresses. One of the tenets of IP targeting is that you need multiple impressions to make sure your intended recipient sees your ad- an accepted "best practice" is 20 impressions. But how many emails should you send during a campaign to make sure your prospect "sees" your offer? Very few clients will send more than 2 or 3, but then again the barriers to having your email seen are sizable. Have you considered 5? Or 10?  Email as an impression are actually less expensive than IP targeting impressions, and we can schedule them automatically. Maybe try a few more email "impressions" to determine your own "best practice."
