USPS Announces Informed Delivery Promotion for 2019

…now ID can cost less than nothing…

Included in the latest rate case by the Postal Service to the Postal Regulatory Commission was a series of promotions for 2019.  For the most part, it was the same promotions they ran in 2017, designed to encourage innovative use of new and not-so-new technologies.  There was one new promotion included in the list as well:  the Informed Delivery Promotion.  Now that’s a promotion we can get behind! The rules are really pretty simple, as these promotions go:
  • Incorporate Informed Delivery in your mailing and get a 2% discount on your postage;
  • The dates of the promotion are September 1, 2019 – November 30, 2019;
  • The registration period is July 15, 2019 – November 30, 2019;
  • First-Class (presorted and automation,), and USPS Marketing Mail – regular and nonprofit – letters and flats are eligible;
You’ll need to provide a pdf of your ad before the mailing, and sign up in advance.  Commingled mail is eligible, but needs its own postage statement. Of all of the promotions offered by USPS, this one makes the most sense since the original QR Code promotion.  It is very easy to administer, and the cost to create an Informed Delivery is low.  Informed Delivery campaigns just make a lot of sense already – a 2% postage discount is icing on your postal cake.  Yum!
